Hotel Digital Lab London: How to increase revenues in a digital and data-driven world?
Amine El Alami of Facebook, observed how mobile technology has revolutionised travel, citing statistics that 85% of travellers used a smartphone when planning their last trip, and saying that we are in ‘the era of personalisation’ with 59% of consumers believing personalisation noticeably influence their purchases.
He talked about reaching customer’s on their travel journey via mobile marketing solutions such as Instagram Stories (400m daily users) and Facebook business pages, and improving customer service and building a booking experience through Messenger (8bn messages are sent between people and business every month on Messenger).
El Alami also outlined some creative consideration for creating mobile video, including capturing attention quickly to deliver your message in 15 seconds or less and designing to be watching with sound off or on. He also recommended Facebook Blueprint for free online training for advertising on Facebook.
‘This journey is 1% finished; there is a big opportunity for mobile,’ he concluded.
